Real Madrid beats Mallorca while Alaves holds the Atletico

Atletico Madrid has lost their first three La Liga games after being beaten to a 1-1 draw against Alaves. Vedat Muriqi of Mallorca had started the scoring at the Santiago Bernabeu, but Los Blancos quickly responded with goals from Arda Guler and Vinicius Junior. As Madrid improved after the coach's arrival at the beginning of the summer, Xabi Alonso's team was also denied three more goals. It's a remarkable accomplishment for Alonso to win every game before the first international break after playing in the Club World Cup and having a weak preseason.

After eighteen minutes, Muriqi utilized his shoulder to deflect a corner beyond Thibaut Courtois, giving Mallorca an unexpected lead. It was the first goal Madrid have conceded in La Liga this season after maintaining two clean sheets in their opening victories. In less than two minutes, Alonso's team answered with two goals.
