Real Madrid begin derby prep without injured trio

The Merengues will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rudiger and Ferland Mendy, who are all injured. Following a day of rest on Wednesday, after Tuesday's away victory against Levante, which maintained their perfect record and La Liga EA Sports leadership, the Real Madrid squad returned to training at the Valdebebas complex.

With the confirmed absences of players still in the treatment room due to muscular injuries  Xabi Alonso worked with the remainder of his squad. This now includes Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga, who have had limited minutes in the last two matches, and Endrick, who is hoping to feature in the Madrid derby.

The rest afforded to players such as Dani Carvajal, Eder Militao and Aurélien Tchouameni against Levante suggests they are set to start in the Metropolitano derby. The rest of the starting XI is expected to remain consistent, with Franco Mastantuono, Vinícius and Kylian Mbappe.
