Real Madrid to a 4-1 win against Las Palmas

On Sunday, Real Madrid overcame a deficit to overcome Las Palmas 4-1 and regain their position atop the La Liga rankings thanks to two goals from Kylian Mbappe.

Atletico Madrid built up a two-point lead over their local rivals despite losing to Leganes 1-0 on Saturday. Meanwhile, third-place Barcelona is seven points behind them following a 1-1 draw with Getafe. Las Palmas took the lead with just 28 seconds remaining as Fabio Silva headed home a cross from Sandro, giving Carlo Ancelotti's team a poor start at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, in the eighteenth minute, Mbappe equalised the score after Rodrygo earned a penalty for the home team.  Mbappe was behind Madrid's second goal too, as his initial effort was denied by Jasper Cillessen only for Lucas Vazquez to pick up the rebound and square it for Brahim Diaz to score in the 33rd minute.
