Real Madrid's Ceballos Set for Spain Return Amid National Squad Reshuffle

Recent Spain squads have been severely lacking in Real Madrid players, something that has seldom happened in La Roja's history. This is due to the departure of Nacho Fernandez and Joselu Mato as well as the injury to Dani Carvajal. However, Luis de la Fuente expects to call up both Dani Ceballos and Raul Asencio for their March international break based on their recent performances. Ceballos did not play for Spain again after being in de la Fuente's initial roster as manager.

His lack of playing time for Real Madrid was the main cause of that last season, but Cadena SER claims that his exclusion from their Nations League team in 2024 and subsequent lack of call-ups were not only due to athletic grounds. Although it was said at the time that Ceballos and Barcelona star Gavi were at odds, the Real Madrid player's dismissal was not directly related to the altercation.
