According to rumours from Brazil, Inter defender Tomas Palacios was close to joining Santos, a Brazilian team, but the deal is now in jeopardy due to interest from an unidentified Serie A team. After a brief stint with Monza at the end of the 2024–25 season, the 22-year-old, who signed a €6.5 million contract with Inter last summer, has been linked to a number of loan moves away from San Siro this summer.
There was a deal in place for Palacios to sign with Santos, and he even had flights booked for Friday, August 28, according to claims from the Brazilian publication UOL Esporte. Reports from Fabrizio Romano claimed that Santos had agreed to cover 100% of the player’s salary and that there was an option to buy for a fee in excess of €10m included in the deal.
