At Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, homegrown midfielder Niccolò Pisilli, who grew up cheering for Roma and advanced through its junior squad, scored his first goal in Serie A as Roma rallied to defeat promoted Venezia 2-1. It is a real-life dream. Every Roman and Romanista's childhood fantasy is to score at this stadium wearing this jersey. I'm overjoyed," Pisilli said.

At the interval, Venezia had the lead, which led to loud jeers from the Roma supporters. Roma is now in ninth place, four points behind Serie A leaders Napoli, who defeated Monza 2-0 to take the lead. Just a few days after Jurić took over for the sacked Daniele De Rossi, Roma eventually secured their first victory of the season on Sunday. Fans staged protests throughout the Udinese match, and a midweek 1-1 stalemate with Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League further sapped their excitement.
