Claudio Ranieri's first win since taking over as coach in mid-November came on Saturday as Roma crushed Lecce 4-1 in Serie A. Roma's third coach of a problematic season is 73-year-old Ranieri, who guided Leicester to an unexpected Premier League championship in 2016.
Since he came out of retirement, Roma has lost twice and drawn once, but on Saturday at the Olympic Stadium, they made no mistakes. The first half was close, with Nikola Krstovic cancelling out Alexis Saelemaekers' initial goal from the penalty spot after 40 minutes. Gianluca Mancini, Niccolo Pisilli, and French midfielder Manu Kone all scored goals as Roma easily won the second half, moving up to 11th place in the table. Two minutes into stoppage time, Juventus salvaged a draw against Bologna thanks to a fantastic equaliser from Samuel Mbangula.
