Roma is saved by El Shaarawy

Claudio Ranieri used the same starting lineup for the third straight game as his team entered today's Round 21 meeting at the Stadio Olimpico on a five-game winning streak. Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Artem Dovbyk were among Ranieri's attacking options. Roma persisted without giving up, hoping to get an early lead to enliven the already raucous Stadio Olimpico. Even if it didn't go precisely as planned, the capital club scored the opening goal in the twenty-fifth minute. Dovbyk casually tapped the ball into the empty net but Genoa responded eight minutes later with a swift, fast, and beautiful corner kick to tie the score.

Later, El Shaarawy sent a low, looping shot just beyond Nicola Leali's reach to complete the sequence with a brilliantly placed strike from the box's edge. Their finishing goal came in the 73rd minute when Leali's attempted interception accidentally rebounded into the back of the net.
