Roma saw off Spezia with 2-0

In the Serie A fixture, Roma took down Spezia with a clean 2-0 win with goals by Chris Smalling and Roger Ibanez. At Olimpico, Roma enjoyed an early lead when a corner kick found its way to Tammy Abraham in the box, who set up Chris Smalling for the opening goal in just six minutes. Giallorossi almost doubled in the first half itself controlling the possession as well as a lead against Aquilotti. Matias Vina was stopped by Ivan Provedel at the 24th minute and 10 minutes later Spezia tried to turn things around by Rui Patricio saved Roma by stopping Arkadiusz Reca.

Roma doubled their lead in the second half when another defender came to rescue the side with another header. Ibanez netted his third goal of the season and sealed the win for Roma as they climbed to grab the last European qualification spot.
