Ronaldo disappointed with penalty miss

With two consecutive draws on their belt, the Portugal National team still has a big chance at getting their next round ticket in Group F of the European Championship. The Real Madrid striker dismissed the rumors that suggest he isn't at the top of his fitness, he agreed that not being able to win and miss that penalty was really disappointing, but he still expects Portugal can defeat Hungary in the last game of the group. Ronaldo also reached Luis Figo as the player with the most caps for Portugal, he celebrated in a bittersweet feeling for not being able to win the game.

He told the press that: "This is football. It was something we did not want. We created plenty of opportunities, but could not finish. I also failed with a penalty and other chances. We must continue to believe and thank once again the Portuguese who were here. We will try to give our best in the next game. We have to think it's still possible. If we win, we will qualify. Portugal has to believe."

Then he spoke about the record of caps with UEFA.com: "Obviously, yes, it's a reason to be proud, reaching 128 international matches and beating the legendary Figo. I know deep down he is also proud of that. Obviously it was a goal to be the most-capped international player, and also to be the national team's top scorer. But obviously I'm a bit sad, because this wasn't the way I wanted to break this record. The most beautiful way would have been to win, and we couldn't, we drew. So it was not how I envisaged it."
