After the good Copa America he completed this summer with Venezuela, striker Salomon Rondon took some much-needed vacations where he had time to lay low and relax for a bit before the really demanding pre-season starts with West Bromwich Albion. It will be a grand season in which there will be new world class managers all over the place, the striker's mindset is to perform at the highest level he can in order to impress everybody.
Talking to the club's official website on the day of his return to training, Rondon said: "I am fit and well and ready for the new season. I feel very good, confident and happy. The Copa America was very good for me and my national team. We played very well but unfortunately we were eliminated by Argentina in the quarter-finals."
After a decent last season with both Albion and Venezuela, Rondon expects this: "I scored goals for Albion and also for Venezuela at the end of last season so I am coming into the new season with lots of confidence. It's very important for me to score goals and I hope to score more this year than I did last year. This pre-season is very important for us and we have to make sure we are physically prepared for the new season."
