Barcelona moved up to third in La Liga with a 3-2 home win against the bottom dwellers Almeria from a late Sergi Roberto goal. The 20th-placed visitors cut the Catalan giants' lead twice, thanks to goals from Leo Baptistao and Edgar Gonzalez, but the home club finally prevailed. The first 45 minutes produced numerous decent chances for both teams as Barcelona set about slowly breaking down the visitors.
Raphinha scored on 33 minutes after bad Almeria defending. Baptistao soon equalized after Barca lost their hold on the game in the middle. The second goal by Roberto looked to have taken the wind out of the 20th-placed team's sails, but a gift from Pena got them back in it when he landed a lofted free-kick at Edgar's feet, and the defender happily slid the ball into the unguarded net. But ultimately, it was Roberto knocking in the winning goal for the Spanish champions in the 83rd minute.
