Serie A Highlights: Verona 2-0 Lecce

Even though Simone Verdi and Marco Davide Faraoni were still receiving treatment, Hellas had significantly improved since co-coach Marco Zaffaroni's arrival. Despite being upset over blowing a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Milan, Lecce had gone six games without a loss. After 22 minutes, Kevin Lasagna had the ball in the net, but he had started his run too soon, strayed offside, and then poked the ball past the advancing goalie.

Following a deft Gabriel Strefezza pass that slid across from the right, Pawel Dawidowicz was forced to leave the field injured, and Alexis Blin compelled Lorenzo Montip to make a last-ditch stop. Montipo just managed to get a hand on Lorenzo Colombo's angled shot after he dribbled by two defenders to get it going, but Verona scored against the flow of play.
