Dodi Lukébakio's double in the first half gave Sevilla a 2-0 victory over Espanyol on Friday, their first away victory in nine La Liga games. After 20 minutes, the first was a goal from 30 meters out that may have won the season. Halfway into the Espanyol half, Lukébakio collected the ball, controlled it, and then side-footed a wonderful shot into the top corner of the net.
A minute before halftime, he had a less impressive but equally clinical second. Lukebakio scored his fifth goal in ten league games with an angled effort into the far corner after the Espanyol defense was unable to clear the threat. On La Liga TV, Sevilla midfielder Nemanja Gudelj made a joke when he said, "I don't know what Lukébakio is eating, but I hope he eats more of it." The outcome moved Sevilla into ninth position and marked their first away victory since April.
