Sevilla defeated Real Sociedad 1-0 in their match at the Reale Arena, capping a fierce La Liga matchup. Sociedad sought to take use of the advantages of playing at home, therefore the clubs played a close game. When Ejuke scored for Sevilla early in the second half, the visitors were able to capitalise on their one risky assault by staying organised. Sociedad, the host club, kept up their relentless pressure throughout the game, but Sevilla's defensive strength and superb goalkeeping allowed them to hold onto their slim triumph.
Real Sociedad controlled the ball successfully throughout the match yet failed to convert their many scoring opportunities against Sevilla’s organised defence. Sevilla delivered their tactical blueprint smoothly because they stayed together as a unit until a scoring opportunity materialised.
