Sevilla moves past Getafe with 1-0

Sevilla overcame the absence of many main players from the squad to win a match in the Spanish league to stay heel to heel with leaders Real Madrid. The undermanned Sevilla took down Getafe by 1-0 on Sunday with Rafa Mir getting the winning goal.

The second-placed Sevilla is five points adrift of Real and enjoys a game’s advantage as well while Madrid took down Valencia 4-1 at home on Saturday. This was Sevilla’s fifth win from six matches and has remained unbeatable with just one draw with Barcelona after they were reduced to 10 men. This is the first league title they have come close to and the last time the club won the competition was in 1945-46 now the team maintains an unbeaten streak since November.
