Sevilla took down Elche 2-0 on Friday with the help of an assist by newly arrived Manchester United loanee Anthony Martial in a La Liga match. The Andalusian side climbed closer to League leaders Real Madrid within three points. Martial stole the show at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, fans were kept waiting for the first goal of the match until Alejandro Gomez gave the side a lead at the 70th-minute with a low shot past Edgar Badia.
Julen Lopetegui and co then doubled the lead just six minutes later with Martial’s help this season who broke free down the left flank and set up Rafa Mir who scored with a header to grab all the three points. Sevilla unfortunately has played one match more than Real Madrid which can hurt their hopes to land a La Liga title this season.
