Simeone demands more from Gaitan

Argentine midfielder Nicolas Gaitan was one of the strongest bets that Diego Simeone made this season, he was the most expensive player this season coming from Benfica for a whopping 25 million and still hasn't been able to live up to the expectations. Fortunately for the Colchoneros, they have a deep squad with many talented players who are doing the work that Gaitan still hasn't been able to deliver this far.

After the Guijuelo match, Simeone talked about his assessment and said: "It's the first time he has played where he wants to play, from the left. But we have Koke and Carrasco [who play from the left]. We have difficult and beautiful competition for places [but], he proved that beyond his talent and speed that he has good reading of play with his peers. Hopefully he can keep up what he has shown and can respond like this whenever I call upon him to play."

However, Simeone was happy with Angel Correa's work, he mentioned that: "Correa's work rate is huge. Every day he is getting stronger. He must be given the minutes that he is earning. As coach I must give what he is earning."
