World football is mourning the death of Sinisa Mihajlovic, a former Serbian international who, as a player, represented some of the biggest clubs in European football, including AS Roma, Lazio, Inter Milan and Red Star.
The 53-year-old coach, who last September left Bologna's technical command, had been fighting leukemia since 2019, having shown improvements since then. However, in March, he called a press conference to reveal that he would have to resume treatments.
The announcement was made, on Friday, by his family, in the form of a statement sent to the Italian press, in which he explained that he lost the battle that had been going on for more than three years, and that deeply moved the supporters.
