Southampton to decide on Romain Perraud situation

Southampton had already decided to sign on Roman Perraud in July but they need to make one more decision regarding the player. Romain Perraud has been invited to join the France squad to take part in the Tokyo Olympics but if they allow the player to participate in Japan he would miss the pre-season with Saints. Tokyo 2020 Olympics are scheduled for 23rd July to August 8th, 2021, and six days later Saints would kick off the Premier League season against Everton.

It seems unlikely that Saints would allow Perraud to leave for France, as a new signing Ralph Hasenhuttl would want as much time as possible with the players. But if Saints are able to sign one more full-back, Perraud might have the honor to represent France in Tokyo.
