Spezia denies AC Milan the top spot

Emmanuel Gyasi nodded a 96th-moment counter-attack to lift Spezia ahead of AC Milan in Serie A to triumph with 2-1. Milan botched their 1-0 lead and lost the opportunity to leapfrog over Inter Milan on the table to grab the top spot. Milan dominated a large part of the game yet scorned a number of chances.Theo Hernandez terminated the penalty wide.

Rafael Leao escaped behind the Spezia guard and Milan a lead. And Spezia hit back with Kevin Agudel’s goal. Spezia burst into action for one final counter-attack later in the match. Victor Kovalenko hurled the ball across the penalty area to Gyasi, handled the ball well, and in a controlled manner placed the ball inside the far post as Milan players were left stunned. In the late game, Fiorentina squashed dampened Genoa 6-0 to hop 6th.
