Stuttgart eye on AZ’s Parrott and €40m Stassin

Following Ermedin Demirovic's injury, Stuttgart faces a critical shortage in attack, relying currently on the only fit striker Deniz Undav. Despite Undav’s resurgence, the club remains determined to bring another forward to Mercedestraße.

One target is St. Etienne’s Lucas Stassin. The twenty-year-old Belgian has contributed four goals and three assists, sparking talks with Stuttgart. However, St. Etienne’s hefty €40 million valuation presents a major hurdle.

Consequently, Stuttgart is also monitoring AZ Alkmaar’s Troy Parrott. The twenty-three-year-old Irish international is in sensational form, netting fourteen times in just sixteen competitive appearances. Although Parrott turned down an €18 million move to Wolfsburg last summer, Stuttgart represents a significantly more attractive proposition. Unlike Wolfsburg, Stuttgart offers superior squad stability plus the allure of European competition. Given these clear advantages, a transfer to the Neckarstadion could tempt Parrott to leave Alkmaar, providing the German side with the vital offensive reinforcement they now desperately require.
