With a 2-1 comeback victory over Mainz, VfB Stuttgart extended its winning streak in the Bundesliga to five games. Chris Führich and Deniz Undav helped the home team bounce back following the scare produced by Nadiem Amiri's penalty kick for the visitors. The game came alive in the last few minutes of the first half after a tense first half in which neither team was able to generate clear-cut opportunities.
The turning point occurred when VAR called the referee to the monitor in the 41st minute to examine for a possible handball. Mainz took the lead when Nadiem Amiri stepped up with assurance and hammered his penalty past Alexander Nübel into the left corner. Despite looking shaken, Stuttgart replied in stoppage time with a brilliant individual performance from Chris Führich. Later, Deniz Undav clinched the victory with a game-winning goal.
