

Despite turning 36 a few months ago, the midfielder has been one of the team's best players this year. This season, in 23 league games, he has one goal and five assists. When healthy, he also serves as the team's captain.
Before joining Kortrijk in 2008, Kums started his career at Anderlecht and went through the youth program. He played for SC Heerenveen across the border after a couple seasons with the Kerels, before moving back to Belgium in 2013. Prior to joining Gent in 2016, Kums worked at Zutle Waregem for a year. Watford paid €9 million to get him in 2016, although he never played for the English team. He left Anderlecht after two seasons to join Gent, where he is now a player. Kums has made 311 appearances with the Buffaloes in two stints, tallying 30 goals and dishing out 41 assists.
