Tajon Buchanan, a Canadian international, has joined one of Italy's most prominent teams. He started his professional career in Major League Soccer with the New England Revolution five years ago. The winger/wingback was purchased by Inter Milan from Belgian team Club Brugge, it was reported on Friday. The 24-year-old was acquired by the Serie A leaders for an alleged $7.6 million transfer price including add-ons.
The trade comes two years after New England sent him to Club Brugge for an alleged $7 million plus a 10% sell-on fee, guaranteeing the Revs would get some financial gain. After being picked No. 9 overall in the first round of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft out of Syracuse University, Buchanan first joined New England. He reached his full potential to secure a move overseas during the record-breaking, Supporters' Shield-winning 2021 campaign for the Revs.
