Takefusa Kubo scored Real Sociedad's sixth goal of the Spanish La Liga season on Sunday, helping them overcome Mallorca 2-1. At Estadi Mallorca Son Moix, the 22-year-old Samurai Blue star tied the score against his previous team in the 38th minute after Antonio Sanchez had given the hosts the early lead.
After winning the ball inside halfway, Kubo dribbled into the area and beat Mallorca goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic with a low shot. Shortly before Mikel Merino headed in the game-winning goal for the visitors, Kubo came dangerously close to scoring another goal with a curling effort that went over the bar in injury time. Siebe Van der Heyden was sent off in the aftermath of Merino's goal, and Mallorca was reduced to nine players after Antonio Raillo was shown two yellow cards in stoppage time in the first half.
