The Barcelona opening leg will not include an Inter Milan star

In their next matchup with Barcelona, Serie A champions Inter Milan will have to play without the services of a key backline player. For his part, defender Pavard was compelled to leave Inter's most recent game early. The France international fell down early on in the team's 1-0 loss to AS Roma before hobbling off with what seemed to be an ankle injury. Pavard, meantime, saw his participation called into question just days before the Nerazzurri's Champions League semi-final first-leg matchup with the previously mentioned Barcelona.

And if the latest word stemming from Italy on Monday is anything to go by, then the former Bayern Munich man, now, can be considered as all but ruled out. As per a report from Sky Sport: ‘Bad news for Simone Inzaghi ahead of the away match against Barcelona for the Champions League semi-final: Pavard will not be there, the French defender’s ankle sprain has been confirmed.’
