Through the summer of 2024, Chelsea FC has signed a new one-year contract with the veteran defender Thiago Silva. The announcement was made by the London Club on Friday. In 2020, Silva left Paris Saint Germain and then he joined Chelsea as a free transfer in the beginning. Consequently, he extended his contracts by 1 year in the later years, 2021 and 2022.

The Brazilian football player said that he was extremely happy to continue his career with the Blues. He added that he initially joined the club for just one year and now this is already his fourth year. He says it was a moment of happiness for him to sign the contract and stay with the Chelsea club. Generally, Chelsea’s policy signs young players for long-term contracts to ensure the club stability, but the experience of Silva is crucial for the team’s development.
