After prior reports of a Brighton effort, Trivela claimed Manchester United is up against competition from Tottenham and Bournemouth to recruit the 22-year-old. A number of European teams are showing interest in him after he emerged as one of Botafogo's most impressive players in recent months.

Manchester United, Tottenham, and the Cherries contacted the Brazilian team and his camp to enquire about the left-back. Along with the three Premier League teams, clubs from France and Turkey have also contacted him to enquire about his circumstances. To find out how well he will adjust to England, the Red Devils, Spurs, and Andoni Iraola's team have made "more advanced enquiries" concerning his pay and family matters. According to the story, the Brazilian's representative recently visited England and other countries in Europe. It's unclear if discussions with the three clubs were place.
