Week 1 Preview: Title favourite Kotoko aims for a good start.

Asante Kotoko the most informed side in Ghana will be aiming for an impeccable start to the season when they play host to the pride of Techiman, Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.

With the CAF Inter-Club competition experiences in the last 2 seasons, the Porcupine Warriors are in great shape and mood for their visitors, a win against bitter rivals, Hearts of Oak in the Presidents Cup is a perfect preseason test ahead of the season.

There are no minnows in football and Eleven Wonders proved it when they last visited the Baba Yara Stadium to battle it out for Kotoko. It was a 75th-minute penalty from their former prodigy, Ismail Ganiu that broke their hearts.

Eleven Wonders will trudge into the campaign with new head coach Ignatius Osei Ofosu. Coach Ofosu, the former interim coach of Liberty Professionals replaces Enos Adepa after he stepped down due to an alleged misunderstanding with management.

Asante Kotoko, on the other hand, replaced Kjetil Zachariassen, with ‘one of their own’ Maxwell Konadu who needs no introduction when it comes to the local scene. Maxwell returns to the dugout after stints with the Black Stars, and the Black Stars B.

Coach Konadu will be hoping to replicate his 211/12 season exploits with the Porcupines this season as his appointment and experience tag them as favourites.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides in the topflight, Eleven Wonders are yet to pick any point against the Porcupines neither can they boast of a goal in these fixtures.

Eleven Wonders will have to dig deep if they are to leave Kumasi with a point as Kotoko are currently in a red hot form
