To replace Martinez, Genoa is in talks with a goalkeeper

On Saturday night, shocking news broke out of England regarding David de Gea's ongoing negotiations to join Genoa. Since Josep Martinez joined Inter in early July, Genoa has been searching for a replacement goalkeeper. It appears that they have discovered the most likely spot to find a solution.

The world-famous De Gea might join Alberto Gilardino's squad in one of the most incredible summer transfers. For the twelve years that he was at Old Trafford, De Gea shattered every goalkeeping record. With Manchester United, he won five major championships, including the Premier League trophy in 2013. De Gea broke Peter Schmeichel's record for clean sheets during his tenure at United, becoming the team's top appearance maker among goalkeepers with 545 appearances. Even if he is nearing the end of his playing career at 33, Genoa would still consider this to be a huge coup.
