After three straight 3-2 losses in Serie A, Torino returned to winning ways on Friday night, defeating Como 1-0 at home courtesy to a tenacious goal from second-half replacement Alieu Njie. Torino had just arrived from a concerning run of results, losing all three of their previous Serie A games by a combined score of 3-2. After five games, Paolo Vanoli's team had taken the lead in the league standings.
It was the opposite for Como, who had a rough start to the season but have since turned things around with two straight 3-2 wins, a tie, and a defeat in their past four games. Just after the half, Como suffered a setback when Sergi Roberto, a former Barcelona player, was hurt and left the game. Midway through the second half, Scotland international Che Adams believed he had given the home team the lead, but his attempt was ultimately disallowed for offside.
