Spain manager Vicente del Bosque, owes Fernando Torres a great deal, excluding him from the list of players who will play the Euros was something that not many people understood. Especially because Fernando Torres if going through a second youth period where he has become one of Atletico Madrid's most important players on the attack. But Fernando Torres looks at this on the positive side, he sees this exclusion as a great chance to focus completely on the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Talking on a public event in Madrid, Torres said that he isn't worried about not being called-up by Del Bosque: "I'm not worried about the Euro, I've got the biggest game of my life to play. We are facing an opportunity that life does not give you many times. The growth of this club, to reach two finals in three years, was unimaginable, but we are facing a new chapter in our history and we must write it with a happy ending."
About facing Real Madrid in the final, Torres says that the rival doesn't matter, what matter is to win the final: "The opponent in a final is not important, what matters is the result and is the only thing that is going to stay in people's heads. We see an opportunity to do something that has never been done. There is obviously a rivalry with Real Madrid but that changes in Europe, the games from before count for nothing."
