The Albania international and his agent have dropped several hints in recent weeks that his time at the Stadio San Paolo is over.

There had been an offer from Atletico Madrid, but Napoli were holding out for €25m, so the Spaniards signed Kieran Trippier from Spurs instead.

Now, according to Il Mattino newspaper, Tottenham would like Hysaj to effectively replace Trippier in their defence.

There’s competition, as Roma and Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus are both interested, with Hysaj working under Sarri at both Empoli and Napoli.
