Tottenham suffers a 2-0 loss against Sporting Lisbon

On Tuesday night, Tottenham experienced a tormenting loss against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League. Spurs were thrashed 2-0 in Portugal as two late goals made them collapse to their first defeat of the season under Antonio Conte. Paulinho went ahead in a corner at the near post in the 91st minute to propel the hosts ahead before Arthur Gomes procured an enthralling solo run to ensure the three points safe a few minutes later.

It was a deflating night for Spurs, who had a lot of great chances through Richarlison but proved to be defunct to make their dominance count. To make thighs even worse for Tottenham audience, their failure was commentated on by Arsenal legend Henry.

Even though he was disappointed to return home with a defeat, Conte still appreciated Sporting Lisbon's robust game. “You can tell that maybe the players of Sporting Lisbon were really focused until the end,” he stated.
