Tottenham's victory against Brighton 2-1

After Danny Welbeck was fouled by Micky van de Ven, Brighton's Pascal Gross scored the first goal from the penalty spot, surprising custodian Guglielmo Vicario. After falling down, Tottenham came back strong and had plenty of opportunities, but James Maddison curled just wide and Jason Steele made three excellent stops to deny the very skilled Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.

The majority of the play took place deep in Brighton territory, and as the second half got underway, Rodrigo Bentancur, Maddison, and Timo Werner all made attempts at goal, maintaining the momentum firmly in Spurs' favour. They kept probing, and ultimately the pressure paid off as Sarr finished at the second attempt after his first effort was deflected against the post. Sarr had grabbed onto a brilliant through pass from Kulusevski.
