UEFA explains how the Euro'2024 draw works (without Russia)

UEFA explained, in the form of a statement issued through official platforms, what will be the molds of the draw for the qualifying round for the 2024 European Championship, which will take place on October 9, in the German city of Frankfurt.

A total of 53 teams will be divided into ten different groups (seven of five teams and three of six), these being "ordered according to the overall ranking of the UEFA Nations League 2022/23 and divided into seven pots".

Absent from this event will be Germany (host country, qualification already guaranteed) and Russia (which is suspended from continental competitions, due to the invasion of Ukraine by the country's military forces, which has lasted since February).

"The ten group winners and the ten runners-up qualify for the finals. The remaining three places will be decided through the playoff, to be played in March 2024", completes UEFA.
