Union Berlin shines through after defeating Wolfsburg 2-0

The Nigerian striker scored the game's first goal as the Iron Ones cruised to a comfortable victory at home. Taiwo Awoniyi scored in Union Berlin's 2-0 win over Wolfsburg on Saturday, continuing his excellent Bundesliga goalscoring streak. Awoniyi opened the score for the hosts in the 49th minute after a goalless first half at the Stadion An der Alten Forsterei.

After eight games, he has six goals in the Bundesliga, and he is one goal away from matching his best goalscoring streak in a league season. Sheraldo Becker was substituted by Kevin Behrens in the 84th minute, two minutes after scoring the second goal for the Super Eagles. After eight games, Union Berlin is in fifth place in the league table with 15 points, three points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.
