After a rocky start in Group D for this Copa America Centenario, the Chile National team was lucky in the second match against Bolivia and finally started letting loose against Panama on the last game.
It took them a while to get used to playing this new system under manager Pizzi, but they got there and will play the quarter finals with a whole new motivation. Next Saturday they will play against Mexico in the quarter finals, their game will be nothing like the friendly they played before the Copa.
Hoffenheim striker Eduardo Vargas, who scored a brace in the 4-2 win against Panama, spoke to the press after the game: "It's been a very important game not just for me but for the team as well. We are the champions of South America and we know we have not had the best games.
"We haven't shown the rhythm we had last year. But this gives us the confidence for what's coming up ahead. It gives us confidence to keep going and achieve our objective of becoming champions."
