Verona beat Empoli 2-1

Hellas Verona secured their safety and demoted the Tuscans, along with Venezia and Monza, to Serie B, preventing Empoli from getting the outcome they required. There were just two relegation slots left, along with Monza, and five teams remained going into the final round. After consecutive victories over Parma and Monza, the hosts were without Youssouf Maleh, Christian Kouame, Saba Sazonov, Nicolas Haas, Pietro Pellegri, and Szymon Zurkowski, thus a lot of it would be determined at the Stadio Castellani. A few weeks ago, Hellas were secure, but they have lost eight games and lost goalie Lorenzo Montipò due to a muscle injury.

It was Hellas who broke the deadlock in the first five minutes, as a throw-in was flicked on by Amine Sarr and Ondrej Duda for Suat Serdar to smash in with the outside of the right boot from the edge of the area.
