Verona squashed Benevento in Serie A

Verona proved their form after holding Juventus a week ago to a draw, and now beating Benevento by 3-1 on Monday in the Serie A match. Antonin Barak scored twice for Scaligeri which involved an opening goal at the 17th minute and a second-half goal at the 63rd minute, Scaligeri also benefited from a goal by Darko Lazovic. Benevento tried to lessen the gap as well with a goal by Gianluca Lapadula in the second half at 56th minute, who recently earned his first match with the Peruvian national team. For Benevento, this is their fourth defeat in six games. Filippo Inzaghi’s side could not optimize on scoring opportunities and even protested when Gianluca Caprari was given a red card at the 73rd minute. Verona benefitted from great saves by goalkeeper Marco Silvestri who denied Streghe’s goal. Ivan Juric’s side will now face top-flight Milan at the San Siro.
