Netherlands international Noa Lang has disclosed that his sudden loan transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray resulted from a difficult relationship with manager Antonio Conte. After joining Napoli from PSV for €25 million six months ago, the winger, aged 26, departed for the Turkish giants Galatasaray on deadline day.
Speaking during ESPN's show, Lang admitted he did not click with Conte, expressing surprise since he was the manager’s specific signing. Although he hinted that the full truth remains unspoken, Lang insisted he maintained good relationships with teammates and staff, claiming "nine out of ten people" wanted him to stay. Having previously lived in Istanbul while at Besiktas, Lang initially hesitated to leave Italy so quickly but felt his performances, one goal and two assists in 27 appearances, were unfairly criticized given the tactical constraints. He maintains that he trained well and fit the playing style, despite the narrative surrounding his exit.
