VfB Stuttgart emerged victorious by 2-1 against Mainz

VfB Stuttgart was triumphant with a 2-1 win against Mainz 05 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Friday with Silas making a comeback. VfB enjoyed the upper hand in possession and later found their opener in the 21st minute with Hiroki Ito’s goal and maintained pressure on Mainz throughout the first half. Just before the break Alexander Hack’s goal did level the score for Mainz.

The boys from Cannstatt did not give in easily and came back after the interval stronger with Borna Sosa pushing the winning goal at 51st minute and VfB held back Mainz well in the second half to claim the three points as they celebrated the return of Silas after eight months in front of the home fans.
