Vidal saves three points against Bolivia on the last minute

Chile desperately needed three points in order to defend the title they got last year at their own turf, Bolivia wasn't going to put it easy for them. Foxborough Massachusetts was the city, Gillette Stadium was the venue for this second match day for Group D in Copa America Centenario. Juan Antonio Pizzi's team was eager for a victory after the loss against Argentina, they would really struggle to get the first goal but eventually they would find it.

The first half was frankly ugly for a professional football match, there were many defensive mistakes made by both teams, but Chile wasn't finding spaces to maneuver inside the field. Many players complained about the dryness of the field, during half time that got fixed and the ball started rolling at a much faster pace during the second half. Right off the start of the second half, it was Arturo Vidal the one who took advantage of a defensive mistake by all Bolivian players on the back and King Arturo Vidal took advantage of it to score Chile's first goal of the match.

But the good times for Chile lasted only thirteen minutes, midfielder Jhasmani Campos took a set piece and turned it into pure gold. He bent the ball from far away and placed it in the top far corner, he may have scored the best goal of the championship so far. Bolivia had tied  the game with half an hour still to be played. Manager Pizzi was going bonkers on the sideline because the Bolivian team was stalling.

Before the end of the match there was a very serious moment, when Eduardo Vargas tried a bicycle kick and accidentally hits Ronald Eguino on the head who instantly fell to the ground completely knocked out. It was a moment filled with suspense for a few minutes because people feared the worst, but suddenly he woke up and took a few minutes to get back in the game. Irresponsibly, Eguino was permitted to return for the last five minutes of the match. At the last minute, there was a penalty called against Bolivia for a hand ball inside the box.

That's how Chile got the chance to score the winning goal and were able to get their first three points in a very tough match. Arturo Vidal scored it without a problem. It was a very emotional second half, which could've gone either way, at the end Chile got their victory and are still very much alive in Group D.
