Villarreal Juventus 2-2 draw

Veiga, who spent the second half of the previous season on loan at Juventus, hammered a strong header past visiting custodian Mattia Perin in the 90th minute. Juventus overcame Villarreal to take the lead, but they were caught in the last minute of play.

The La Liga team had gotten off to a strong start, and on minute eighteen, Nicolas Pepe slipped a lovely ball into Georges Mikautadze's path, who put Villarreal ahead with a goal into the bottom corner. After Francisco Conceicao's tease low cross two minutes into the second half, Juventus striker Jonathan David mysteriously missed a close-range effort. The Bianconeri found the leveller soon after when Federico Gatti thumped an overhead kick into the back of the net. Conceicao, who had come on at half-time, then raced clear through on goal and slotted past home goalkeeper Arnau Tenas as Juve turned the came around.
