Villarreal signs Alexandre Pato

After not having a chance at Chelsea during last season, Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato felt it was unfair being treated the way he did and wasn't going to let this tamper with his plans of succeeding in European football. His agent was incredibly invested in finding him a new destination which he found in Spain finally, Villarreal CF has decided to gamble for the player and completely bought his transfer this Wednesday.

The club has posted the official announcement on Twitter and Pato has already passed the respective medical tests. The club has reportedly paid €3 million for 60% of his rights, the rest will stay with Sao Paulo who still own 40% and will be open for negotiations in the future. In total, his full transfer card is worth around €5.5 million. This will absolutely be the last chance Pato will get at European glory, during his loan spell at Chelsea he only had the chance to perform in two games.

After the news broke, Pato took his happiness to his Instagram account where he posted a message to all his fans: "I am very happy about this new challenge in my career with Villarreal! I arrive with a lot of desire and excitement!"
