Villarreal thrashed Alaves with a 5-2 beating

Villarreal secured a thrilling win with a 5-2 beating of Alaves at La Ceramica. The seven-goal thriller on Tuesday saw the Yellow Submarine climb the La Liga table as they overcome their slow start to the season and put in a real effort for the title under Unai Emery.

Gerard Moreno who made a comeback from injury gave the team a good lead within 18th minute and later Boulaye Dia doubled the lead while Alaves pulled one back with Pere Pons’ goal before halftime and came back in the next half to level the score at 2-2 with Joselu’s goal. Alaves’ comeback was not enough as Villarreal hit three more goals with Dia going for a double, Yeremy Pino, and Moreno to ensure a win and the three points that come with it.
