Vozinha’s remarkable story added a new chapter as the Cape Verde goalkeeper made his Colo‑Colo debut, keeping a clean sheet in a 3‑0 Copa Chile win over Unión Española. Fresh off his breakout World Cup performance, the 40‑year‑old arrived in Santiago amid huge attention, having surged from 50,000 to 30 million Instagram followers during the tournament. His first outing in Chile did not require spectacular saves, but he impressed with composure and authority between the posts, giving coach Fernando Ortiz a genuine selection dilemma alongside Gabriel Maureira.

Vozinha said he was “very happy” after the match, describing the debut as a rewarding moment following a long pause after the World Cup. He explained that he needed time to recover and prepare before joining Colo‑Colo. His fairytale continues, and fans hope his calm presence and inspiring rise will help the club write meaningful new pages in the months ahead.
