Wales delivered a sensational performance to thrash North Macedonia 7-1 in their final 2026 World Cup Group J qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium. The dominant victory secured Craig Bellamy's side a second-place finish and a crucial home draw for the upcoming World Cup play-off semi-finals.

Stand-in captain Harry Wilson was the architect of the rout, scoring a magnificent hat-trick that included two penalties and a curling free-kick. Wales took early control with goals from Wilson and David Brooks, though Bojan Miovski briefly reduced the deficit for the visitors. However, Brennan Johnson restored the two-goal cushion before halftime.

The hosts ran riot in the second half, adding further goals through Daniel James, Wilson, and a late strike from substitute Nathan Broadhead. It marked Wales' first seven-goal haul since 1978, capping off a memorable night in the Welsh capital.
