Werder extend Weiser's contract

Mitchell Weiser's contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season, has been renewed, Werder Bremen have announced.
The length of the new contract was not disclosed.
“We held extensive talks with Mitchell and are very happy that he wants to continue on this journey with us," said Werder managing director for sport Clemens Fritz.
“With his value as a player and his experience, he is an important pillar in our squad, and fully believes that he can achieve his ambitions as a player with Werder,” added Fritz.
Weiser commented: “My family and I feel right at home here in Bremen and at the club. I see a lot of things heading in the right direction and so have decided to continue down this path that we’re on.”
